What Happened to Thanksgiving?

I barely have my Halloween stuff put away and already there is Christmas music in every store and my pumpkin spice latte has been marginalized by the suggestion of seasonal peppermint and eggnog flavors in a trendy festive cup.  My daughter is excitedly sketching her plans for outdoor holiday lights in our yard.  Friends are ahead of the curve on their holiday card photos.  But what happened to Thanksgiving?  Does anyone else find it ironic that the holiday that is dedicated to slowing down and giving thanks is the one getting glossed over as an on-ramp to Christmas?

It felt good to get that off of my chest. OK, here we go. with all sorts of holiday things you may want to know about. Get your calendar ready.
