Say Goodbye to Baskin-Robbins this Week
November 24, 2019
The Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream at 12673 NE 85th St will be closing for good on Weds November 27th. Their lease is up and it's rumored that something new will be happening on that property (the big fire last year was in the building right behind them, which is completely leveled now). So hurry in and say your goodbyes and enjoy 30% off of everything between Sunday and the 27th. A little ice cream before Thanksgiving never hurt anyone ;-)
The project is listed on the city Major Development Project Report as "Crescent Lighting Rosehill" at 12631 NE 85th St, which says it will be 275 housing units (27.5 affordable) and 14,000 square feet of commercial. It is in the "Projects in Pre-Permit Review" section. The fact that Crescent Lighting is mentioned makes me think the entire strip mall will be demolished, including the two outbuildings. It is also a clue that all three of those buildings are on a single 3.4 acre lot, and it would make sense that the entire lot be redeveloped all at once. There aren't any plans filed on MyBuildingPermit.com yet, but the description there says "Three buildings with 275 units, 14k SF commercial, and associated parking". More will be known once a building permit is applied for.
