Taking Care of Yourself at Kirkland Life Chiropractic

A few things have gone askew during this last pandemic year, so it has never been more important to remember to take good care of yourself.  We are all spending a bit more time hunched at our desk on Zoom calls and trying to keep up with getting some exercise and activities into our day as we re-emerge with the springtime weather.  Unfortunately, our bodies do not always cooperate (says the old lady writing this post)!

I want to give a shoutout to our newest advertiser, Kirkland Life Chiropractic, that has proudly been serving their patients for 21 years and has a long and loyal list of local followers.  When I dropped in for a few scheduled services, I bumped into Nick, an athletic trainer I know from a local gym, who told me he has been going to Kirkland Life for years.   On my next visit, I find another familiar face, Jason (formerly of Bassline Fitness), running Kirkland Life’s cryotherapy program. Small world?!  Or perhaps these guys are onto something.  Kirkland Life’s location is in a small Bridle Trails retail center, at 13116 NE 70th Place, that feels friendly and familiar as their staff smiles from behind their masks and greet you like a friend.  Many of their staff have been there for years, and it is easy to sense their camaraderie.

Here is the re-cap on my visit.  First, there was a massage with Brian who asked a few questions about my nagging shoulder injury and proceeded with hawk-like precision to loosen it up and get it moving.  I wish that hour did not have to fly by.  Next up was a full-body cryotherapy session with Jason at -265 degrees. Three minutes feels pretty darn long when your body temp drops over 30 degrees.  The good news is that it reduces inflammation, stimulates immune response, improves joint function and helps reduce stress and anxiety.  You can do full body cryo or opt for a local application if you want to focus on a particular area.  Jason stays in the room (your lightly covered body is hidden from sight) to chat and distract you from your body’s natural tendency to want to run out of there. When it is over, you feel ready to conquer the world!  Mention the Kirkland Blog for a $40 first-time cryo visit and you can also enjoy a 3-session package for $99.

Dr. Andrea Emde is the newest addition to the Kirkland Life Chiropractic team, who is not only a chiropractor but also a Naturopathic Physician.   She must really like school (kids take note!). Her dad was a chiropractor, and she grew up working in his office being keenly interested in how patients walked in with pain and walked out with a smile. She loves how each case brings a unique challenge and how she can draw on all her schooling and skill sets to find unique treatment plans for her patients.  Whether it is neck, back, or radiating pain, nutritional/gut issues, fatigue, hormonal inbalances, or helping an athlete get to their peak performance, Dr. Emde takes a holistic approach and takes the time to listen to each patient’s concerns. She also offers vitamin shots such as B-12 (energy), B-Complex (mood/cognitive function), and D (energy, immune function, building bones) that are often given in a series. Mention the Kirkland Blog and you will receive $5 off an injection therapy!

Kirkland Life Chiropractic is open Mon, Tues (afternoon), Weds and Friday.  They are welcoming new patients and accept most major insurance plans.  You can reach out to 425-576-5433 or online here to schedule and ask questions. Be well, friends!
